Centerpieces – Large – Part 2

These centerpieces and lamps are a great way to dress up a tent!Had a lot of inquiries about large centerpieces. Here are some more I like and given the colorful nature of these – these are definitely in style this year. The

Dresses – the options…

Ah, the wedding dress. With so many styles and designers, how can you pick just one? For me, I found my dress after only looking a few times. I knew I wanted something ornate and not a typical style. I loved that my dress was so different and fairy-tale in a way. For my wedding, I considered having two dresses 1- the ball gown for the church ceremony and 2- a mermaid or more straight gown for the rehearsal dinner. My now husband suggested I stick with just one. I could have gone either way. Here are some things to consider:
1- If you and your groom are from different cultures, you may want to have two dresses to incorporate both colors and or traditions
2- If your ceremony and your reception are at the same location, or you have minimal time between the two, you will most likely want to stick with one dress…the time wasted to switch the dresses will be added stress.
3- Ask your fiance and your family for their opinion, they know you and what, at the end of the day, you’ll be happiest with.

Damask, Damask, Damask – part 2

Here are some great damask-themed cakes I came across.

Damask, Damask, Damask – part 1

What is the biggest decorating and wedding trend this year? Damask.
Here are the Damask picks from Eva Designs.

How great is the damask tape? I have a similar plate and mug set and have damask in the living room and bedroom in my place. But damask at a wedding – talk about exuding class.

Damask, Damask, Damask – part 3

So you can rest assured everything I post won’t be around damask….but I have to post about invitations. You will see many black and white damask invitations out there but what makes the invitations really stand out? Pops of bright colors! I love pairing lime green or fuschia with damask, I think it looks so clean. Personally, I like eye-catching invitations that don’t go overboard because too much…well, really is just too much. With as hot as damask is right now, I am sure you can find any color damask you fancy – whether it is green, fuschia, Tiffany blue, etc. One suggestion:try to think ahead (as many of you are planning your weddings for 4 months to a year on out) to something that will still be fresh on your wedding day. Most would hate to spend so much time, energy and money on a creative wedding that become “done befores” when your date rolls around. A great way to add a timeless element? Tie in details that are uniquely you and/or your fiance!
