Hi ya’ll…yes, it has been a while since posting. Have been extra busy busy…so, I stepped away from the blog for a bit. So anyway, let’s get on with the show…
Bridesmaid dresses don’t ever have to look like bridesmaid dresses. I was perusing one of my favorite sites (as I always do), Mod Cloth, and they have some beautiful non-traditional-looking bridesmaid dresses. These are some of my faves…
Add some dimension to your wedding party and photos with this fab dress…(just make sure the groomsmen attire complements the color + style).
The Raise the Roof dress

I picture an ultra modern, somewhat less formal wedding for this one, say at museum of modern art or an art center. Having a black, white and yellow wedding? This Op Art Enthusiast dress would be perfectly stylish.

Speaking of stripes, this Cruising Together dress (which I myself own), would be great for a beach-inspired, less formal wedding. (the material looks “more dressy” in person).

Having a little more dressy of an affair and looking to incorporating navy? This Navy Say Navy dress is adorable.

I have always loved parasols. For friend’s East Coast garden wedding over a year ago, she had parasols for the guests to use during out the outdoor ceremony for shade. They were fun + of course made for great photo ops. Having an outdoor wedding? Consider having parasols for props or for your guests to use. Here are some of my favorite guest + bridal party parasol shots….not surprisingly I spotted these all on the Natalie Moser Photography blog – she’s shot some stylish, parasol weddings that’s for sure.

I have been wanting to write this post for the longest time. Why? Because I am such a fan of dresses by Yumi Kim. Over two years ago, three of my girlfriends [also 3 of my bridesmaids] spent a Saturday at Gen Art in LA. There, the three of us fell in love with the designs of Yumi Kim. I left with a great purchase – a dress that would later get compliments practically everywhere I wore it. I normally don’t like wearing the same outfits to various events – but au contraire with this dress. I’ve worn it to rehearsal dinners, my going away party, going out on the weekends + much more. Some girls have a versatile black dress…I think this is my equivalent.
If you are looking for a pretty, colorful alternative to the typical bridesmaid dresses for your girls, you may want to consider these lovelies! I can picture them for a beachside affair, an afternoon wedding, an outdoor wedding – you name it. I mean, look at these…

I spotted this lovely wedding photographed by Stephanie Williams, on her blog. In addition to the beautifully shot images, I love all of the details of the wedding party attire. This wedding is like modern, preppy + chic all in one. Everything ties in so well + creates such a clean, crisp look.
The venue is Alcazar Garden in Balboa Park/ San Diego California.

I love the cute navy blue bridesmaids dresses, flower girl outfit + her floral pomander
ball…

not to mention the tan suits + the groom’s blue polka dot tie.
These were just a few images, you can see more on the Stephanie Williams Photography blog post, here.

In my last post I mentioned The Dessy Group bridesmaids dresses and how they are one of my faves for bridesmaid dresses. So it is no wonder that I adore these styles…
I’ll give you a clue, one is perfect for a modern wedding {or even a preppy wedding} and the other is perfect for a girl who wants that wonderfully romantic wedding.
From the Lela Rose bridesmaid collection by The Dessy Group...

I like the tuxedo-esque top.

The flower neckline is adorable.

Oh my gosh, totally my thing…. I adore Audrey Hepburn and always have. She is one of my idols, fashion icons and in my mind, THE film sweetheart. During my recent trip to Belgium {where she was born}, I asked the concierge at the hotel if they knew the area where she grew up {couldn't find it online, of course} because I wanted to visit. I must have been the first person to ever ask that because they had no idea.

Needless to say, I was happy to come across Audrey {and Cary Grant} tags via Jessica at Starr Designs' Etsy page. I think they are great for birthday tags, or anything wedding… you name it. Lovely!

Anyone who knows me knows I love handbags. For some girls it is shoes… for me, it is handbags that consume the walk- in-closet, the over-the-door holder, my suitcase when traveling, you name it.

I came across Dylan & Dillion and their Bridal Collection where they create custom silk screened clutch handbags…perfect for yourself or bridesmaids! What I do know is that I want to get myself one…what I don’t know is what color. If you are looking for a bridal handbag, check them out.

Gone are the days of the tousled wedding updo (and long gone are tiaras if that ever interested you). If brides are wearing their hair up, it is sleek and in a low bundle. For less formal wedding, a loose curled-pulled-back look looks great as well sans veil. Many brides are forgoing up dos all together and going with hair down or with the subtle sides back. Did I mention how much I like Katherine’s vintage looking short veil?
These photos, although not all of
weddings, of celebs we all know are good…their hairstyles? great.
